In short
A regular clean is a repeat visit, usually weekly or fortnightly, that covers the kitchen, bathrooms, floors, dusting and bins. On Holler you set your address, pick a time, see the price up front and pay in the app.
What a regular clean includes
A regular clean is maintenance: the jobs that build up week to week. Every cleaner works slightly differently, but most visits cover:
- Kitchen — worktops, hob, sink, cupboard fronts, the outside of appliances and the floor
- Bathrooms — toilet, basin, bath or shower, tiles, mirrors and the floor
- Living areas and bedrooms — dusting reachable surfaces, vacuuming carpets and rugs, mopping hard floors
- Finishing touches — emptying bins, tidying surfaces and, if you ask, changing bed linen
What it usually does not include
Jobs that take a lot of time or need special kit are normally separate:
- Inside the oven, fridge or kitchen cupboards — that is a deep clean
- Inside the oven — see oven cleaning
- Outside windows — see window cleaning
- Clearing heavy clutter, laundry and ironing, unless agreed beforehand
Weekly or fortnightly?
| Weekly | Fortnightly | |
|---|---|---|
| Suits | Families, pets, busy shared homes | Couples and single people, tidy homes |
| How the home feels | Always clean | Clean, with a dip in the second week |
| Length of each visit | Shorter — less has built up | A bit longer — more to catch up on |
| Cost over a month | Higher | Lower |
If you are not sure, start fortnightly. If the home feels like it needs a clean well before the next visit, move to weekly. Some people book monthly, but by then each visit is closer to a deep clean and takes longer.
Start with a deep clean if the home needs it
Regular cleans keep a home clean — they do not get it clean in the first place. If it has been a while, a one-off deep clean first means every regular visit after that can stay short and focused.
How booking a regular clean works on Holler
- 1Set your address in the app to see the cleaners who cover you. Holler is opening area by area, so coverage depends on where you live.
- 2Choose regular cleaning and pick a time that suits you.
- 3See the price up front. The price shown includes everything — there is no booking fee on top.
- 4Pay in the app with your card. You do not need to have cash ready or pay a stranger by bank transfer.
- 5Track your cleaner on the day on a live map, and message or call them in the app without sharing your number. Chat can translate messages if you and your cleaner speak different languages.
After the clean you can rate it. Ratings on Holler come only from real, completed bookings, which is what makes them worth reading when you choose a cleaner. For your next visit, book again at the day and time that suits you.
Getting the most from each visit
- Tidy away clutter so the cleaner spends the time cleaning, not moving things
- Agree whether they bring products and equipment or use yours — message them before the first visit
- Say which rooms matter most if time is tight
- Mention anything delicate — natural stone, wooden floors, antiques — before they start
Questions people ask
What does a regular cleaner do?
Usually the kitchen, bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming and mopping, and emptying the bins. Inside the oven, fridge and cupboards is normally part of a deep clean instead.
How long does a regular clean take?
It depends on the size of the home and how often it is cleaned. A small flat cleaned weekly might take a couple of hours; a larger house cleaned fortnightly will take longer. The cleaning price calculator gives a rough estimate.
Should I get a cleaner weekly or fortnightly?
Weekly suits busy homes with children or pets; fortnightly suits smaller, tidier homes. Fortnightly is a good place to start, and you can switch if it is not enough.
Do I need to be home when the cleaner comes?
Not necessarily, but for the first visit it helps to be there to show them around. You can track your cleaner on the day and message them in the Holler app.
Do cleaners bring their own products?
Some do and some use yours. Check with your cleaner in the app chat before the first visit so nothing is missing on the day.
